Domino's India implements Thin Client IT platform

Dec. 19, 2011

Jubilant Food Works Ltd., the Domino's Pizza franchisee in India, has installed Medley Marketing's Thin Client as its IT architecture, replacing PCs.

The basic IT infrastructure of Jubilant Food Works was expected to support its rapid growth. However, the standard desktop setup of five to six PCs per location proved to be a bottleneck, according to the company.

"Apart from productivity loss, it was difficult to repair the desktop in the store environment due to limited space," said Rahul Puri, general manager — IT, Jubilant Food Works. "The rugged environment for terminal PCs near a hot oven and flour area meant a need for a sturdy thin client."

Medley Marketing's system includes both Windows and Linux-based models, the latter of which saved the operator an estimated 8 to 10 percent on licensing fee and configuration costs.
