PHOENIX — Aiming to meet the needs of low-carbohydrate dieters, Domino's Pizza Domino's rolled out its Carb Cruncher Pizza to select stores in Phoenix, Atlanta and Los Angeles in July.
"It is our goal to continually focus on consumer trends and pay attention to what our customers tell us they want," Trish Drueke, vice president of brand and menu growth at Domino's, said in a news release. "Our research indicates that approximately 60 million consumers are controlling their carbohydrate intake to some degree."
Each serving of the Carb Cruncher contains between 6 and 9 grams of net carbs depending on the toppings on the pie. (Net carbohydrates represent total carbohydrates minus carbohydrates from fiber.) A Carb Cruncher Pizza with green peppers and mushroom, for example, has 8.5 grams of net carbs.
Spokesperson Holly Ryan said individual Domino's operators are free to choose whether to offer the pizza.
