Feb. 9, 2012

Domino's Pizza U.K. just added a Windows 7 version of its mobile app, the seventh channel available for its mobile program, according to econsultancy.com.

Additionally, the company said that 13 percent of its digital sales now come from a tablet or smartphone.

Domino's iPhone app has generated 4.1 percent of all online orders.

The new Windows 7 app was built by Vexed Digital and is expected to increase Domino's capabilities to Nokia users. Paul Francis, the company's head of commercial systems, said there are even more ambitious mobile/online plans for 2012.

Domino's UK's iPad app was launched in September. According to the story, the chain's main rival Pizza Hut has yet to launch any mobile platforms in the U.K. market.

Domino's also announced that it was reviewing its digital and direct marketing account. A large proportion of Domino's marketing budget is spent on digital advertising, with nearly half of its pizza sales now made online.
