ANN ARBOR, Mich.—Domino's Pizza believes sales this Friday-on Halloween-will top that of its typically highest sales day, Super Bowl Sunday.
According to a news release, Halloween always is a top-five sales day for the company, and adding Friday—already the busiest day of the week in the pizza business—to the mix, should spur sales significantly.
"It's rare that these events all happen simultaneously," said Holly Ryan, spokesperson for Domino's. "They could mark the perfect combination for a fantastic night of pizza sales."
Last Super Bowl Sunday, Domino's sold more than 1.2 million pizzas. This Friday it anticipates selling more than 1.4 million pizzas nationwide—a 19.6 percent increase over a normal Friday. According to the release, that's 3,840 pizzas coming out of the oven every minute in Domino's stores across the country.
In expectation of the order onslaught, Domino's stores around the country are doubling staff.
