Easy Ice announced today that it is a local sponsor of Share our Strength's Taste of the Nation events in Washington, D.C., New York City, Miami and Baltimore. All proceeds from the events benefit Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign to end childhood hunger in America, according to a company press release.
Taste of the Nation events are a series of tasting benefits dedicated to making sure no kid grows up hungry, said Patty Gentry, senior operations manager, Culinary Events, Share our Strength. Every year, the country's best chefs, sommeliers and mixologists join together at more than 30 events across the country to raise funds needed to support the No Kid Hungry campaign.
"Our support of Share Our Strength is a perfect fit for both our head and our heart," said John Mahlmeister, CMO and co-founder of Easy Ice. "We eliminate the hassles of owning an ice machine for business owners so they can focus on their business, and Share Our Strength takes hunger off the table so children can do what they do best — learning, laughing, loving....just being a kid."
Taste of the Nation Washington, D.C. was March 31, and the New York City event is April 28. The dates for the events in Miami and Baltimore have yet to be determined, but those events will occur in July and October, respectively, according to the release.
