VICTORIA, British Columbia -- B.C. Ferries is seeking a major pizza chain for a partnership that would serve its pies on its Queen of Coquitlam ship.

According to a release, when the ship returns to service in June, the company wants to have pizza on the menu -- which currently offers burgers -- for customers traveling on its Horsehoe Bay to Nanaimo route.

The project will be a one-year trial that will end in April 2004.

B.C. Ferries' reported that its entire fleet generates CAN $44 million (U.S. $26.8 million) in annual food and beverage sales.

Pizza companies interested in the opportunity should visit http://www.bcbid.ca, or call Deborah Dykes, BC Ferries, Communications, 250-978-1276.
