Figaro's Italian Pizza unveils low-carb pizzas line

SALEM, Ore.—Beginning Feb. 23, Figaro's Italian Pizza, Inc., a take-and-bake and bake-and-take chain, will roll out a low-carbohydrate line of pizzas that boast less than 12 net carbs for each 8-inch pie.

According to a news release, the pizzas use a proprietary wheat-flour micro-thin crust.

"Figaro's Low-Carb pizza ... contains the same generous portions that are used on half of one of our large pizzas," said Ron Berger, Figaro's chief executive officer.

Priced at $4.99, the pizzas contain the following number of carbs each:

* Cheese (9.8 carbs)

* Pepperoni (9.85 carbs)

* Papa's Supreme: pepperoni, Canadian-style bacon, beef, sausage and salami and cheese (10.57 carbs)

* Figaro's Special: Canadian-style bacon, pepperoni, beef and fresh-sliced tomatoes and cheese (11.3 carbs)

* Creamy Garlic Club: Canadian-style bacon, chicken, bacon, onions and diced tomatoes on creamy garlic sauce and cheese (11.89 carbs)

* Creamy Garlic Chicken: chicken, olives, onions, green peppers and diced tomatoes on creamy garlic sauce and cheese (11.86 carbs).
