Flippers Pizzeria, known for its handcrafted pizzas fired in authentic brick-ovens, is taking its 23-year-old concept to the national franchise market.
Orlando-based Flippers Pizzeria has eight corporate locations and anticipates more locations in the next few years, though it hasn't released how many. New locations will feature a recent brand redesign by Chute Gerdeman Retail branding and design company, which has done notable projects for Barbie, M&M's World, Red Lobster and more.
The company was enlisted to enhance the business' corporate identity and interior design palette. The interiors now reflect the company's "fresh, friendly, fun" manifesto. Bright, energizing colors breathed new life into the restaurants while the centerpiece authentic brick oven, large cans of tomatoes, framed artwork of fresh ingredients, bottles of extra virgin olive oil and sleek directionals enhanced the experience. Dark stained concrete floors, exposed ceiling beams, comfortable booths, high-top bar and even a bright red, solid oak communal table were also worked into the signature Flippers design.
According to co-founder Scott Kousaie, the pizzeria has a product and a business model that fills a void in the industry -- a casual restaurant that serves up three "big menu" items: pizza, pasta and sandwiches. Wine and beer is also available at these small, sleek fast-casual outlets.
That experience also extends beyond the Flippers door. Customers have the option of enjoying fast, fresh take out or delivery. They can also order online through the company's Web site.
