Orlando, Fla.-based Flippers Pizzeria is anticipating a busy few months with the influx of spring break visitors and fans for the Arnold Palmer Invitational Golf Tournament, March 19-25.
Flippers is preparing for the crowds by promoting its catering and group services, as well as new items available in-store or via delivery.
Flippers Pizzeria's Group Menu includes "all-inclusive" options ranging from $8 per person to about $10 per person.
The catering menu includes pizzas, penne marinara and penne Alfredo pastas, wings, breadsticks and garlic bread, and platter-style salads.
Typically the Spring Break season can range from the end of February to the middle of April; however its peak is from March 5-23, when close to 3 million college students head to the area.
Also on the calendar this spring is the Arnold Palmer Invitational (formerly the Bay Hill Invitational), which is the premier PGA golf event in Central Florida. Last year, Flippers donated more than 600 individual pizzas to event volunteers.
"We are proud to have been able to participate in the Arnold Palmer Invitational for a few years now," said Scott Kousaie, co-president & founding partner. "Our Sand Lake restaurant is less than an mile from the Bay Hill course, which is where the tournament takes place, so our team prepares for the influx of orders every year. It's a very exciting time for us."
March and April are also host to a variety of fundraisers at Flippers Pizzeria's locations.
"From local colleges, to area high school and middle schools, fundraisers and 'spirit nights' happen at our locations weekly," said Kelly Pfister, director of Sales and Marketing. "Schools contact us to host a fundraising event, then we help to promote it through our social media channels like Twitter and Facebook."
The restaurants typically donate 20 percent of the evening's total sales to the school during these events.
