Splick-it Inc, a provider of branded mobile apps and online ordering platforms for restaurants, announced this week that Vijay Bangaru has joined the organization as president and CEO. Bangaru has worked with Google, Microsoft and MapQuest in a variety of product management and technology leadership roles.

Most recently, Bangaru was VP of product at MapQuest where he helped launch products such as MapQuest Vibe and MapQuest Discover. He previously managed product and technology at Google, playing a key role in the development of Google Drive, Google Docs and Google Search.

“This is a really exciting time in the mobile ordering space with the convergence of mobile commerce, loyalty and mobile POS systems and I look forward to guiding the Splick-it team to continue to be a stand-out leader and innovator,” Bangaru says.

Bangaru is actively recruiting talent to join his team and help realize his aggressive business development roadmap. He has already recruited Anke Corbin as SVP of sales and marketing and Bob Durkin as VP sales.

Prior to joining Splick-it, Corbin served as VP of sales and marketing at MapQuest and MP of marketing at TransWorld Media, a division of Time Inc.

Durkin co-founded several successful tech startups, where he was VP of sales for Pinpoint Technologies and iCentric. His focus will be on growing the accounts base.
