HOUSTON—Ted Alonzo, owner of Fresh Pizza in Lorenzo, Calif., won a $15,000 Revention POS system during International Pizza Expo held in March.

According to a news release, Lorenzo's name was picked from 5,000 entries.

"To my knowledge, Revention is the first POS company to give away a complete point-of-sale system at the International Pizza Expo," said Laura Gaudin, director of sales at Revention. "It was important to our company that the system was a complete, three-workstation solution that would not require the winner to purchase anything from Revention. What's the point of a give away if it still costs the winner money?"

Alonzo called winning the system "the greatest thing that has ever happened to me." His pizzeria sells specialty pies "with a Filipino twist," and sports a full bar and live entertainment. "I was happy to see Revention could handle all aspects of my business, pizza, delivery, full service and bar."

Gaudin said Revention will do similar giveaways at future tradeshows.
