Giordano's signs sponsorship deal with Chicago Cubs

Giordano's Famous Stuffed Pizza has signed a new partnership with the Chicago Cubs to be the team's official and exclusive pizza of the Cubs and Wrigley Field.

"We feel a real kinship with the Chicago Cubs," Yorgo Koutsogiorgas, president and CEO of Giordano's, said in a company press release. "Both Giordano's and the Cubs are iconic Chicago brands, rooted in family and committed to serving the greater Chicago community. Just as the Cubs are family owned, the majority of our 44 brick and mortar locations in Chicago and Orlando, Fla., are family owned. Giordano's and the Cubs truly approach operations in the same way — and that is from a place of deep loyalty to our customers and fans."

Koutsogiorgas and Chicago Cubs Chairman Tom Ricketts kicked off the partnership on Feb. 4 at Giordano's flagship location at 730 N. Rush St. in Chicago, wearing Cubs' home jerseys for the occasion.

"The opportunity to create an exciting and unique partnership with Giordano's was important to us," Ricketts said. "We are continuing to raise the bar with our fan base, and this partnership is going to further enhance the fan experience and deliver signature Chicago deep-dish pizza to Cubs fans all season long."

As part of the partnership, the pizza cooking station at Wrigley Field will make and serve Giordano's pizzas. On June 20, the Cubs will host Giordano's Day and distribute 10,000 collectors-edition Ernie Banks bobble-head dolls bearing the Giordano's logo. Giordano's messaging will be incorporated into the rotating content featured on existing LED screens in the ballpark, as well as the Wrigley Field Marquee. The Giordano's logo also will be integrated into various Cubs' publications.
