Green Restaurant Association endorses eMonitor

Powerhouse Dynamics' eMonitor, with all monitoring and management capabilities, has been endorsed by the Green Restaurant Association. It is the first energy-management system to receive this endorsement.

The eMonitor is designed specifically to meet the needs of small commercial operations such as restaurants and convenience stores.

The eMonitor remotely controls heating and cooling systems and identifies equipment-related issues before they turn into major problems. It analyzes every electric load in a facility and delivers real-time intelligence to weed out inefficient energy expenditures, such as unnecessary off-hours usage, and can also monitor natural gas and water usage as well as refrigeration temperatures and other variables.

The system allows operators to perform these functions remotely from their mobile device.

Restaurants that implement a complete eMonitor system will earn 11.25 GreenPoints toward becoming a Certified Green Restaurant. GRA is a national non-profit organization that provides a way for restaurants to become more environmentally responsible.

"Given the energy-intensive nature of restaurants, the eMonitor is tailor-made to provide operators the tools to increase profitability by reducing power and water consumption. That's because every energy/water dollar saved drops directly to the bottom line as pure profit," Powerhouse Dynamics CEO Martin Flusberg said. "At the same time, the resulting resource conservation contributes to the health of our environment."
