Grimaldi’s Pizzeria expands in Florida

Fresh off its fourth Nevada opening, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria has headed back east with a new unit slated to open this summer in downtown Palm Beach, Fla.

This will be the second Florida location for the Brooklyn, N.Y., staple, and the company plans to further expand throughout the Sunshine State in 2011 and 2012.

Grimaldi’s, known for its coal-fired oven, has garnered more awards than any other pizzeria in the country. Its “secret recipe” sauce and handmade mozzarella cheese complement the dough, made with water tested by chemists to assure the mineral content and exact composition of Brooklyn’s water, guaranteeing the product is consistent wherever the company may grow.

In addition to its New York and New Jersey locations, Grimaldi’s owns and operates stores in Las Vegas, Reno, Nev., Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Texas, and six units in Arizona. Additional locations are in the works for Texas and Nevada.

The new Florida restaurant will be open for dinner hours only, 4-11 p.m., and will offer a wide selection of beer and wine, salads, pizzas, calzones and desserts
