Tulsa, Okla.-based Mazzio's Italian Eatery has launched a new system that allows guests to place a previous order from their cell phones.
The new text ordering capability is part of Mazzio's rollout of the leapfrogpos.com cloud-based point-of-sale platform. This new system fully integrates in-restaurant, call center, online ordering and text ordering into a seamless enterprise platform.
"We're constantly looking for ways to make ordering as easy as possible for our customers," said Greg Lippert, president and CEO of Mazzio's. "Texting is one of the most popular methods of communications but it has long been a challenge for using it as an efficient method for placing orders. We're proud to be the first in this space to approach it in a new and innovating way that we believe is easier than anything else out there. "
The option to order by text is available automatically to any Mazzio's customer who has ordered in the past using Mazzio's call center or online ordering website. Prior customers can text the word "Mazzios" to 90808 and are able to scroll through all their orders from the last 60 days. They can then choose any order to repeat. If the prior order was paid by credit card, the system will offer them the ability to charge the new order to the same card as well. A confirmation text is sent immediately upon placing the order providing all the pertinent details.
Customers whose cell phone numbers are not in the Mazzio's ordering system and would like to use this ordering method can call the Mazzio's call center and have the number added to their account, or update their online profile by adding their mobile number to their account.
