Less than a month after being recognized as a top military friendly franchise by Victory Media, Hungry Howie's has been named to the Military Times EDGE Best for Vets: Franchises 2013 list.
The magazine ranked the company 12th among the 37 most military-friendly franchises for its efforts to help veterans, as well as active-duty service members and their families.
The Military Times chose companies based on several factors, including their franchising opportunities for veterans, culture, initial investment, royalties, growth, veteran-owned franchise unit performance, and the availability of financial and other support.
Hungry Howie's Pizza is the only company on the list in the quick-service restaurant category. The company offers qualifying veterans a 50-percent discount on their initial franchise fee. Its development team ushers investors through a start-up plan for owning a small business franchise.
"It's our way of thanking members of the armed forces for their service to our country," said Jennifer M. Jackson, development director for Hungry Howie's Pizza. "Military veterans are a good fit for the pizza business because of their strong work ethic, organizational skills and ability to follow a plan of operation."
