Nashville, Tenn.-based Hunt Brothers Pizza has joined The American Pizza Community, a coalition of companies, operators, franchisees, vendors, suppliers and other entities that focus on policies related to the pizza segment.
"Hunt Brothers is proud to join APC and support its effort to foster a healthy business environment for the pizza industry," said Scott Hunt, CEO of Hunt Brothers Pizza.
With more than 7,000 locations in 28 states, the family-owned-and-operated Hunt Brothers Pizza is the nation's largest brand of made-to-order pizza in the convenience store industry, according to a news release.
"We are delighted to have Hunt Brothers Pizza join our efforts," said Ron Berger, board member of the APC and chairman and CEO of Figaro's Italian Pizza Inc. "We look forward to adding their brand into our community of pizza operators and suppliers, and having their perspective from the convenience store industry."
The four Hunt brothers had already been in the pizza business for 30 years when they developed their business model in 1991.
Collectively, APC represents 20,000 pizzerias and 400,000 team members. Their areas of focus include policy issues such as menu labeling, labor, tax reform and commodities.
