MONCTON, New Brunswick — Pizza Delight Corp. has appointed 36-year restaurant industry veteran Ron N. Magruder its president and chief executive officer.
Magruder's lengthy career in the U.S. restaurant industry includes leadership positions at Darden Restaurant Group's Olive Garden and Red Lobster brands, as well as president of Cracker Barrel. Most recently he served as group president of Cara Operations, owner of the Swiss Chalet and Harvey's Hamburger chains in Canada.
In 1993, Magruder won the prestigious Gold Plate award from the International Foodservice Manufacturer's Association, and he was named Operator of the Year by Nation's Restaurant News magazine in 1991. In 1999, he served as chairman of the National Restaurant Association.
According to a news release, Bernard Imbeault, Pizza Delight founder, president and CEO, will become executive chairman of the board and remain active in the company.
