LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Yum! Brands Inc. reported Jan. 29 that comparable-store sales at Pizza Hut rose 2 percent for the four weeks ended Jan. 28.
According to a news release, sales in the comparable period in 2003 were down 4 percent.
Pizza Hut reports sales numbers only for its roughly 1,760 U.S. corporate stores, which make up 23 percent of the chain's domestic system.
Yum's international system sales, made up almost entirely of blended KFC and Pizza Hut sales, increased 4 percent prior to foreign currency conversion, 14 percent after conversion to U.S. dollars.
