Lavu adds customization options to iPad POS system

Jan. 9, 2014

Lavu iPad POS has added customization options tailored to the needs of hospitality businesses, the company said in a news release. New features include the ability to design a custom menu interface and customize checkout screen functionality.

The newly released Menu Icon Generator creates color-coded icons for menu items, which are displayed on the iPad. Names, item descriptions and recipes can be added to menu items, as well as important notes to identify vegan items or to display food allergy warnings, the release said.

The lower Payment Panel Editor for the checkout screen lets users choose their payment types and functions. Unnecessary buttons can be removed, making the checkout process faster and preventing potential mistakes, the release said.

Lavu encourages development on their platform, offering an open API for developers and peripheral extensions to meet functionality requirements specific to the restaurant and hospitality industries, the release said. Developers can expand on the POS system, or build their own peripheral components.
