New York-based BFG 9000 has been named as Little Caesars' new creative agency after a "quiet" review, according to Ad Age.
Ed Gleich, Little Caesars' senior VP of global marketing, told the publication that the agency has strategic insights and does "fun well."
"...With a character like [Little Caesar], we feel our brand personality is going to be suited well for that," Gleich said.
BFG 9000 was founded by Gerry Graf a few years ago.
The hire will mark Little Caesar's return to national marketing after focusing on local markets for several years with multiple agencies.
Gleich joined Little Caesars in October, along with Dana Tilley who was named VP of research and development.
According to Kantar, the company's measured media spending increased by nearly 33 percent – to $22.4 million – in 2011. However, that budget is still less than 25 percent of other major pizza players. Ad Age previously reported that the chain is expected to significantly increase its ad spend.
