Marco's Pizza is included in Entrepreneur magazine's annual Franchise 500, a guide of top franchise opportunities in the country. The Toledo, Ohio-based company is listed at No. 104 on this year's list.
According to a news release, Marco's added 109 stores last year, a growth rate of 33 percent.
"There are a lot of pizza franchises out there, but at Marco's we really do things differently. We strive to make the perfect pie, every time, and our goal is to be the Five Guys of the pizza segment. The pizza industry is very fragmented, and there are a lot of people out there competing to make a cheaper pizza. We want customers who come to us because our pizza is the best, most authentically Italian pie there is," CEO Jack Butorac said in the release.
Marco's Pizza is expected to hit the 500-store mark in mid-2014.
