Marco's Pizza has been listed as No. 8 on the Franchise Times' Fast & Serious list, a ranking that evaluates franchise companies that are growing quickly and have staying power, according to a news release.
Marco's was founded in 1978, and its growth trajectory has been on an upswing in the past three years. Last year, the franchise system opened 109 restaurants, experiencing a 33-percent increase in growth. In addition to the "Franchise Times" ranking, Marco's also has been listed at No. 104 on "Entrepreneur's" Franchise 500 and included in Franchise Business Review's Top 200.
"Franchise Times" identified 40 companies as "fast-growing franchise systems that also have staying power" for its Fast & Serious ranking. The rating system factored in percentage and dollar amounts of sales growth, number of units added over the past three years, as well as percentage of growth, giving more weight to growth in years two and three. The magazine chose the companies from a field of 298 franchise systems with more than $40 million in sales.
