Mario's Pizzeria sets up cobrand deal with Blimpie

ATLANTA -- Mario's Pizzeria, Trinidad's original pizza chain founded 35 years ago, has signed a cobrand partnership with Blimpie International, an Atlanta-based sub-sandwich chain.

According to a Blimpie statement, the partnership is expected to yield two cobranded outlets this year in Trinidad.

Richard Hartford, founder, owner and operator of all 15 Mario's Pizzeria restaurants in the West Indies nation, said he chose to partner with Blimpie in order to extend customer offerings, including "breakfast and lunch selections that will be a perfect complement to Mario's long-time favorites."

Jeffrey K. Endervelt, Blimpie chief executive officer, called Hartford a "seasoned professional who knows his customers and understands his market."
