MOD Pizza to donate percentage of pizza sales to food banks, shelters

MOD Pizza announced the start of its "Spreading MODness" campaign, which will donate $1 from every pizza sold, in every MOD location, to local food banks and shelters. The campaign will run from Nov. 26 through Dec. 1.

The Seattle-based restaurant, which was founded by an entrepreneurial group led by Scott and Ally Svenson, said that since its inception, the goal of the restaurant was to give back to the community.

"Since MOD is in the business of feeding people, supporting food banks and shelters is an obvious choice, and what better time to give back than during the Thanksgiving holiday," said current CEO Scott Svenson. "Spreading MODness is about building bridges for our employees and the communities they serve. Choosing local beneficiaries that are personal to each of our 14 stores therefore made perfect sense to us. We are excited and privileged to be able to launch this campaign as we celebrate MOD's fifth birthday and say 'thanks' to the communities that have so warmly embraced us."
