Monical's Pizza receives employer of choice award at NRA show

BRADLEY, Ill. -- Monical's Pizza Corp. received the Full Service Family Restaurant Employer of Choice award during the 83rd annual National Restaurant Hotel-Motel Show, held May 18-21, in Chicago.

Sponsored and presented by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) and Coca-Cola Fountain, the Employer of Choice Award showcases companies focused on satisfying employees in order to satisfy guests.

According to a company release, Monical's was recognized for its successful implementation of the Harvard Business School's "Service Profit Chain" initiative in 1997.

Monical's president Harry Bond received the award and called the honor "the result of every manager and team member accepting and embracing the idea of employee and guest satisfaction ... ."

This year's other winners were: Quickservice: Chick-fil-A, Team Member Loyalty and Recognition Program; Full Service Casual: Ground Round, Achiever Retention Program; Cafeteria: Buffets, Inc., People First and Internal Promote Programs; On-Site: Compass Group, The Power of Many Diversity Program; and Fine Dining: Ruth's Chris Steak House, S-MAC Learning System.

Monical's Pizza is based in Bradley, Ill., has more than 50 restaurants in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.
