Louisiana "legend" Johnny's Pizza, which has about 27 corporate owned stores, will start a franchising program in Baton Rouge, according to Thenewsstar.com.
The concept is original in its employee-owned structure. It had slimmed down decades ago after filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy, but rebounded after a change of leadership.
From the story:
Today, Melvin DeLacerda is the president and chief executive, Bernie Lear is the board chairman and Dennis Wills is the vice president of franchising, although 60 percent of the company is owned by its employees through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
