LYNDEN, Wash. — SpeedLine Solutions has released Speedline 5.5., a powerful POS software upgrade that includes the company's new Operations Planning Suite.
"The new Operations Planning suite in SpeedLine 5.5 is the first of its kind in a pizza POS system," Terry Haan, SpeedLine vice-president of development, said in a news release. "It leverages the sales data already in the system, giving operators new planning tools to control food and labor costs up front."
At the heart of the new suite is an extensive sales forecast tool that uses detailed sales history to help operators plan future sales and production schedules. SpeedLine can even import sales history from a previous POS system.
The forecast feeds sales projections into the new Prep and Buffet plans, which allow the system to recommend reliable production pars that help cut waste, ensure adequate supply and keep out-the-door times low. New Buffet templates also integrate with SpeedLine Inventory, simplifying inventory management for buffet and catering operations, and ensuring tighter controls on food costs.
"SpeedLine's new sales forecast will help store managers stay focused on their overall business," said Marico Thomas, owner of Bermuda-based The Upper Crust Gourmet & Pizza, which tested the new software. "Without this tool, information like this would take weeks, if not months, to compile."
SpeedLine staff will demonstrate 5.5's capabilities in booth No. 225 at the New York Pizza Show, scheduled for Nov. 1-2, in Manhattan's Jacob Javits Center.
