NTN completes acquisition of POS maker, Breakaway

CARLSBAD, Calif. -- NTN Communications' Hospitality Technologies division has completed its acquisition of the assets of Breakaway International, Inc., a privately held provider of restaurant industry POS hardware and software.

According to a news release, the deal cost NTN $25,000 in cash, $2.275 million in shares of unregistered NTN common stock and the assumption of certain Breakaway liabilities.

Breakaway's unaudited estimated revenues in 2002 were $5.85 million.

Breakaway products currently are used by more than 300 companies in about 3,300 locations in 43 countries. Among its many restaurant customers is Domino's Pizza.

Its software and hardware product line includes the Breakaway VISION POS solution; Breakaway ProHost, a wait list management/table management system; Breakaway RSViP, a reservation management system; and Breakaway Enterprise, which allows restaurateurs to manage their operations through the Web.
