N.Y. Chuck E. Cheese in game license controversy

July 23, 2009
In a 3-3 vote, the Amherst, N.Y., Town Board failed to approve a game license renewal for a local Chuck E. Cheese restaurant, according to a story in the Buffalo News. The board cited concerns about violent video games and incidents of bad behavior by patrons that required police to be called.

The restaurant's license is set to expire at the end of the month. Without the license, the restaurant cannot legally operate its arcade games.

Chuck E. Cheese plans to send a representative to the next Town Board meeting to get the restaurant's license restored.
