N.Y. town approves conditional game room license for Chuck E. Cheese
Aug. 4, 2009
The town board of Amherst, N.Y., has voted 5-1 to grant a local Chuck E. Cheese restaurant a game room license, according to a story in the Buffalo News.
The board had failed to approve the license at a meeting in July, citing concerns over violent video games and unruly patrons.
As a condition of the license approval, the board asked the company to provide a written corporate security plan to address safety concerns and that the business put special stickers on violent games to make the rating system on those games more clear to parents.
Company officials said they will install a video surveillance system in the establishment within the next several months.
