Panago Pizza adopts sustainable seafood purchasing

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Canadian pizza chain Panago Pizza has transitioned all seafood items on their menu at more than 160 locations to ensure they are Ocean Wise certified, the company has announced.
Ocean Wise is a Vancouver Aquarium conservation program created to help restaurants and their customers make environmentally friendly seafood choices and are highlighted on partner menus by the use of the Ocean Wise logo. Sustainable seafood assessments are based on recommendations and research by leading marine conservation organizations such as Monterey Bay Aquariums' Seafood Watch Program and Sea Choice Canada.
Panago's partnership with the Vancouver Aquarium coincided with the company's recent overhaul of the chains' menu ingredients to include no artificial flavors or colors and no added trans fat or MSG.
The change to Panago's menu will affect approximately 120,000 pizzas with shrimp, oyster and/or anchovy toppings that are ordered throughout the year.
