Papa John's intros Grilled Chicken Club pizza, new Coke-and-music promo

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Papa John's is introducing a new Grilled Chicken Club pizza, topped with all-white chicken, hickory-smoked bacon, onions, Roma tomatoes and a special sauce.

According to a news release, customers who purchase the new pizza at the regular menu price will receive one of three DVD movies from participating restaurants (see Papa John's launching DVD movie and pizza package deal). The new pizza's price was not mentioned in the release.

The company also announced the Memorial Day launch of a cobrand promotion with Coca-Cola. According to the release, Papa John's customers purchasing four 20-ounce Coke products for $3.99 will receive their beverages in a custom carrier, along with an official cut-and-reveal sticker with four free music track downloads from Musicmatch (Musicmatch downloads are available to U.S. residents only and Internet access is required to redeem prizes at www.papajohns.com.) The dual-component promo is called "4 & More" and "4 To Go!"

"Research tells us pizza is the number-one food choice of teens, and hanging out with friends and listening to music are top teen activities," said Papa John's chief marketing officer Gary Langstaff.

The promotion will get support from dedicated print and broadcast media.
