LOS ANGELES -- Papa Murphy's Take 'N Bake Pizza has hired davidandgoliath (dng) to handle its advertising.
The agency is expected to roll out its first campaign for the nearly 800-store Vancouver, Wash.-based pizza chain beginning in September.
According to a release, Papa Murphy's executive vice president of marketing Rob Elliott has worked in the past with David Angelo, dng's chairman and chief creative officer. The two crossed paths when Angelo was the executive creative director at Cliff Freeman Partners in New York, and worked on the Little Caesars account with Elliot, who was employed by the Detroit-based pizza chain.
"(Rob) has such a great track record growing underdog brands in the fast-food category," said Angelo.
Other dng customers include Kia Motors, Universal Orlando Resort, Dish Network, Outback Steakhouse, Starlight Children's Foundation, Conrad Hilton, NY Mets and Mattel 100% Hot Wheels.
Papa Murphy's has stores in 22 states, mostly in the Western U.S., and is the world's largest take-and-bake pizza chain.
