VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Papa Murphy's Take 'N' Bake Pizza plans to offer its new Deeper Dish take-and-bake pie beginning Oct. 1.
According to the Portland Business Journal, the company's chief executive officer said the line extension was an effort to address broadening customer preferences.
"Customers want more than just thick crust in a deep-dish pizza," said Terry Collins, CEO. "Papa Murphy's Deeper Dish pizza is a truly unique, pizzeria-style deep dish pizza with a tasty new sauce and extra helpings of the freshest and finest ingredients available."
Papa Murphy's continues to show the most significant growth in the highly competitive U.S. pizza market, expanding at a rate of more than 100 stores per year for the past few years. Since 1996, annual revenue has climbed from $84 million to $380 million in 2001. The company has more than 700 stores in 22 states.
