Papa's Pizza To-Go rolls out the ''Hundred Pounder'

GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- Papa's Pizza To-Go has announced the chain-wide introduction of its "Hundred Pounder" pizza, an 18-inch pizza boasting a pound of cheese and 100 hundred slices of pepperoni.

According to a release, the pizza's marketing slogan is "Just try to eat it all!" Sale price is $12.99.

Marketing support for the Hundred Pounder will come from targeted cable TV spots.

"Some of the customers say it's the best pizza we've ever had," said Gary Brown, a Papa's franchisee who tested-marketed the pie. "Many say it's the right size for the whole family."

The nearly 100-store chain targets small towns of 2,500 to 5,000 people with trade areas of 8,000 to 10,000. Approximately 20 percent of its stores are company owned.
