LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Addressing growing concerns over food safety, custom tomato sauce manufacturer Paradise Tomato Kitchens is now shipping its products with new tamper-resistant boxes.
The boxes' "tamper-evident" design -- the first of its kind to be offered by a tomato sauce manufacturer -- displays signs of attempts to gain access to its contents, alerting the box handler of potential product harm.
"The Tamper-Free Shipping Box makes a strong statement that Paradise is taking the next step to ensure the complete security of our sauces," Justin Uhl, director of quality assurance for Paradise Tomato Kitchens said in a release.
Paradise also announced the introduction of its new Easy-Open Sauce Pouch. The one-gallon, rectangular, plastic sauce pouch has 45-degree-angle slits across the pouch's ends. The slits are easily torn at the corner, allowing the sauce to pour out with less chance of spilling and eliminating the need for knives and scissors.
