Jan. 21, 2013

Pie Five Pizza Co., a subsidiary of Pizza Inn Inc., opened its ninth restaurant this week, located on West Hickory Street across from the University of North Texas campus in Denton, Texas. This opening marks the second college location for the fledgling fast casual pizza concept.

"Denton is a young and active community and home to University of North Texas and Texas Woman's University. It's the ideal location to open our newest Pie Five restaurant," said Randy Gier, CEO. "We can't wait to introduce the Denton community to our revolutionary pizza experience."

The Pie Five Denton menu features made-to-order pizzas and a variety of specialty pie choices prepared in less than 5 minutes on a whole grain, artisan thin, classic pan, or gluten-free crust.

The Denton location is the first in the Pie Five system to offer a whole grain crust.

"The menu addition makes our Denton location unique and adds to the list of fresh and delicious choices available to our guests," Gier added.

Pie Five opened its first location June 2011 in Fort Worth, Texas. A 10th location is scheduled to open next month on the Texas Christian University campus in Fort Worth. The concept has also awarded multiunit franchising development agreements for another 18 locations out of state with plans for additional growth.

Pie Five recently launched a franchising website at www.piefivefranchising.com.
