Pizza Fusion grows Middle East presence

Feb. 6, 2013

Parent company Unique Pizza and Subs Corp. today announced its Pizza Fusion brand has opened its eighth restaurant in the Middle East via the Samir Group, its Middle East master franchisor.

The new unit is located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

As Samir Group continues to expand Pizza Fusion throughout the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), it has set its sights on the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Dubai and Abu Dhabi in particular. The operator has plans to open 40 locations throughout the MENA region within the next five years.

"The Samir Group is the perfect partner for our growth in the Middle East," said James Vowler, UPZS president & CEO. "The UAE is an opportunistic expansion target for Pizza Fusion due to the burgeoning region's continued embracement of U.S. restaurant chains.

Florida growth on track as well

Pizza Fusion also continues to grow in its home state of Florida with plans to open two new locations in Naples and Boca Raton.

With the addition of these two locations, Pizza Fusion will grow its international chain to 22 restaurants systemwide.

Pizza Fusion Naples will open at 2146 Tamiami Trail North in "The Gateway of Naples" shopping center. Corporate is actively assessing locations in the Boca Raton area for a new flagship corporate restaurant and training facility.

Pizza Fusion Naples is the second location for veteran Pizza Fusion franchisee, Brown Thompson. He will open the doors of Pizza Fusion Naples on Earth Day, April 22.

"People have been begging us to open in the Naples area since we opened our first location in Fort Myers," Thompson said. "It's there, people are there, the customers are there, and the demand is there."

Pizza Fusion's new corporately owned restaurant will be located in Palm Beach County. The energy-efficient store design will feature wood burning ovens, locally crafted microbrews and technology integration to engage customer's social participation at the store level. This marquee show place will also serve as a training facility for the Florida region franchisees and will be used for research and development.
