The Pawtucket Times: In the world of the Dore brothers' dreams, the bottle would have broken when Michael Dore got hit on the head and the police, and detectives would have offered sympathy when he told them he had just been robbed.
Instead, the bottle remained intact, Dore got knocked out, and the police and detectives who heard his story shook their heads and said: "No way."
Dore, 20, called police at 11:20 p.m. Nov. 22. He told police he was at work, cleaning up the Pawtucket, R.I., Domino's Pizza, when someone walked in the back door, hit him over the head and took off with the night's receipts.
When police told Dore his story didn't add up, he allegedly offered another. But that didn't add up either. The investigation kept looping back to Dore's brother, Christopher, who it turned out had been the one to hit his brother on the head with the sturdier-than-it-appeared bottle and conspire to steal the cash.
