KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The manager of a local Pizza Hut store was charged on Oct. 16 with arranging recent robberies at two other Pizza Huts.

According to the Kansas City Star, John R. Miley, 22, received two counts of first-degree robbery and two counts of armed criminal action in connection with two thefts.

The first robbery occurred in July, when two men entered the restaurant through a back door when an employee opened it to take out the trash. One robber entered the store with a shotgun and forced the employees to lie on the floor. The other robber took money from the safe, which was left open by Miley, according to court records.

The second robbery occurred on Oct. 13, when the store's manager was robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot as she left the store to deposit about $3,300 at a bank.

Police arrested three men in connection with that heist: Timmy L. Ransom, 18; Willie M. Stamps, 17; and Jeremie D. Miley (John Miley's brother), 20. All were charged with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.
