PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Hoping to drive credit-card usage at Pizza Hut restaurants, MasterCard International and the pizza chain are offering consumers a chance at a grand prize of $25,000 in gold coins and a first prize of a $10,000 in the two companies' "Get the Gold" sweepstakes.
"For our customers who prefer using payment cards over cash, this is an important option for us to offer them," said Cindy Hennessy, vice president of national marketing for Pizza Hut.
Each time customers use a MasterCard card to purchase any Pizza Hut pizza between Jan. 26 and March 9, they'll be entered in the contest.
Two winners will be selected for prizes on or about March 31.
