LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Yum! Brands, Inc. (NYSE: YUM) reported that sales at its Pizza Hut chain were flat for August (the four-week period ended in September), and that estimated sales for the quarter dropped 1 percent.
Estimated sales increases at its Taco Bell and KFC chains helped push U.S. blended same-store sales at company restaurants up 3 percent during the four-week period ended September 2002. Estimated international system sales increased 10 percent after conversion to U.S. dollars.
Third-quarter estimated U.S. blended same-store sales at company restaurants increased 3 percent, and estimated international system sales for the period increased 13 percent after conversion to U.S. dollars.
Sales figures do not include those from Yum's recently acquired brands, Long John Silvers and A&W All American Foods.
