Pizza Hut UK and MICROS ink huge POS deal

COLUMBIA, Md. — POS manufacturer MICROS Systems, Inc., and Pizza Hut UK Ltd., have signed a major account agreement under which the pizza chain will purchase and install MICROS RES 3000 and at its 600 dine-in and delivery-carryout locations in the UK.

According to a news release, 100 systems will be installed in delivery units this month. "Given our scale and growth plans, we were looking for a fully integrated, scaleable solution that would meet the demands of both our Home Delivery and Dine-in restaurant businesses," said Keith Adams, Director of IT for Pizza Hut UK Ltd. "We have been impressed with the total MICROS product offering. The flexibility of the enterprise technology has enabled us to deliver an enhanced Above Store reporting capability that will play a major role in our overall IT infrastructure."

Kaweh Niroomand, Executive Vice President, EAME Region for MICROS stated, "According to industry analysts, delivery/takeaway will become one of the fastest growing foodservice sectors in Europe by 2008, and Pizza Hut UK as a leader in that market, is a perfect partner for MICROS.
