Pizza Hut UK delivers augmented reality experience

Pizza Hut Delivery in the United Kingdom has teamed up with Blippar to launch an augmented reality campaign on the brand's pizza boxes. According to, the campaign coincides with the launch of the Forza 5 Motorsport Xbox One game.

Pizza Box lids feature a "blippable" image of a Forza 5 car. Customers who download the free Blippar app to their smartphone or tablet can "blipp" the image by pointing their camera to the image. This will allow them to access more content, including game trailers, and win prizes.

Viviane Paxinos, head of business development at Blippar, told the publication that pizza boxes are often underused for marketing. The augmented reality boxes are available until Jan. 12 at 300 Pizza Hut delivery outlets throughout the country.
