Pizza Hut’s Cheesy Bites Pizza lights up the holidays

Calling all Clark Griswald wannabes: Pizza Hut is searching for America’s best holiday light displays in honor of the return of its Cheesy Bites Pizza.

Through Dec. 13, customers are invited to submit their light creations online for a chance to win the grand prize of a full reimbursement of December’s electric bill – up to $500 – and a $100 Pizza Hut gift card.

Additionally, four other finalists, as runners-up, will receive a $50 Pizza Hut gift card, and the first 50 submissions will receive a $12 Pizza Hut gift card.

A committee will judge submissions and choose the top five finalists, whose creations will then be voted on by the public from December 17-21. The grand prize winner, as determined by online voting, will be named on or by Dec. 23.

Pizza Hut originally introduced the Cheesy Bites Pizza in 2006. It is a large pizza surrounded by 28 pullable, cheese-filled bites that take the place of a traditional crust edge. The item includes marinara sauce for dipping.

A large, one-topping Cheesy Bites pizza is $11.99. The item is offered for a limited time.

"Christmas lights are one of our favorite holiday traditions," said Chris Fuller, social media director at Pizza Hut. "At Pizza Hut, we want to reward the people who craft the most original, most creative, most fun car-stopping light shows with one of our original creations, Cheesy Bites Pizza.”
