Pizza Inn announces sweepstakes winner

"Get your sea legs ready" is what Pizza Inn representatives told Ruston, La. resident Eugene Pangilinan, when they showed up at his house Aug. 12 to tell him he had won a Caribbean cruise in Pizza Inn's national "Boatload of Fun" sweepstakes.

When Pangilinan answered his door to JoJo, the company icon, Pizza Inn employees and local franchise owner, Scot Brasuell, holding balloons and a pizza, he knew something big was happening. Pangilinan won the grand prize, but his victory also gives his community members a special deal on pizza.

Residents can buy a large, one-topping pizza for $8 now through the end of August.

Pizza Inn customers were invited to enter the sweepstakes via text message, online or by using their phone to scan the QR code. One entry per week was allowed during the contest, which ran May 30 through July 31.

"This is so exciting! I can't believe I won," Pangilinan said.
