Pizza Inn CEO to appear on Texas broadcast

Sept. 22, 2011

Charlie Morrison, president and CEO of Pizza Inn, will be featured on this month's episode of CEO, a public television and radio program that features North Texas business leaders.

The episode will air at 7 p.m. Sept. 30 on KERA TV, with rebroadcasts at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 2 and 10:30 p.m. Oct. 3. CEO can also be heard at 5 p.m. Oct. 2 on KERA FM.

The program will include a discussion with Morrison about what it takes to make a company successful in today's global marketplace and changing economy.

Pizza Inn opened its first pizzeria on Dallas' Mockingbird Lane in 1958 growing to 800 franchises before filing for bankruptcy in the late 1980s. Morrison, who took over as CEO in 2007, will detail the strategy that led to the company's turnaround, the subsequent rebranding of the nostalgic eatery and his plans for the company's domestic and international growth.

Morrison will also discuss the company's recent launch of Pie Five Pizza Co., a fast casual chain catering to young urbanites.

Following the initial on-air broadcast, the half-hour program will be available on www.kera.org/ceo. Previous CEO episodes are available on demand at www.kera.org/ceo.
