THE COLONY, Texas — Pizza Inn announced the appointment of Darrell Smith to the post of vice president of development, and the promotion of Danny Meisenheimer to vice president of brand management.
According to a news release, the men will work to improve Pizza Inn's systems and processes in hopes of reinvigorating the sputtering 400-unit chain.
"These new positions mean accountability at the highest levels of the company, a key to getting our 48-year old brand back on track," said Tim Taft, president and chief executive of Pizza Inn. "Together the roles are extremely crucial to the revitalization of the brand. The people I've selected have fresh approaches, innovative ideas, the right expertise and creative insights to make positive changes."
Smith will oversee site selection, construction of new company units, franchisee selection and the design program of new and remodeled units. He is the former group director of development services for 745-unit Whataburger, where Taft served as chief operating officer until 2004.
Meisenheimer will work within the chain to reinforce the brand's foundational messages of freshness, tradition and hospitality. He is formerly vice president of marketing for Pizza Inn.
