Pizza Patrón spreads to San Diego

Feb. 14, 2011

Pizza De la Comunidad LLC has opened its first of 11 Pizza Patrón locations in the San Diego Market. The new unit is in the Escondido area.

Pete Tucker, who has more than 25 years of restaurant industry experience, founded Pizza De la Comunidad LLC along with an investment group of San Diego business professionals, including Robert Rubio of the Rubio family that founded Rubio’s Fresh Mexican Grill.

“We have been very busy since the opening," said Tucker. "We can't be more pleased to have this first one open and serving the community. And, the response has been even better than we hoped."

The Pizza De la Comunidad LLC group continues to search the market for its next 10 Pizza Patrón locations in San Diego County.

"We are thrilled to see the first San Diego store open," said Guillermo Estrada, president of Pizza Patrón. "If anyone can handle that kind of volume that fast, it is Pete and Robert, very experienced developers. They have our brand up and running here in record time, and we're privileged to have their team developing this important market for us."

Pizza Patrón currently operates 100 stores in seven states and plans to have 750 stores nationwide within a decade.
